What products are made from dates?

Apart from the fruit of the palm tree, other components of the palm tree can also be used for other purposes. The leaves and branches of the tree are used to make baskets, bags, blankets and small decorative items. Palm kernels, which most families throw away, are mostly used in the desert.

The nomads dry and crush the date kernels (flour), then produce flour into bread, which they used to feed the camels. And some other nomads roast the kernels and make coffee from them.

 

Where is the main origin of date palm?

The main origin of dates is India. Palms in Iran also grow in the south and dates are known as black gold. It is interesting to know that the main history of this fruit in Iran dates back to the pre-Achaemenid period and in the tablets and books of that time, the word palm was used as a date fruit.

In addition to Iran, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iraq, UAE, Pakistan and Libya are among the places where date fruits are grown and distributed throughout the world.

This is the most expensive date in Iran. This date is planted in the southern regions, especially in Hormozgan province. Pyaram dates are known as chocolate dates because their skin color is light brown. This plant is grown on the slopes of the mountain and no chemicals are used in its cultivation and it can be said that it grows completely naturally.

 

Multiple dates
This is the most popular type of date that most people use. The origin of this type of date is known as Bam Kerman.

 

Colonial dates
An example of dates produced in Iran is colonial dates. Which constitutes 70% of Iran's palm trees. Thick skin and semi-dry properties increase the life of this fruit.

 

Date of Zahedi
Dates are mostly used for export because they are easily portable.

 

Royal dates
Tenderness, dryness and sweetness are the characteristics of royal dates that have attracted the attention of date fans.

 

Lamb dates
Iranian lamb dates are imported from Iraq and it is late. But the main source of these dates is Sistan and Baluchestan province.
