Create a plan

If you want to turn your house into a dream house, it's important to have a plan. Unfortunately, many people don't make plans and instead just wing it. This can lead to problems down the line because you're unsure of what needs doing or when it should be done by.

A good example of an actionable plan would be one that includes:

• A list of tasks with deadlines attached (i.e., "Tidy up garage," "Repaint living room")
• Costs associated with each task (i.e., $100)

Set an actionable budget

Before you start, set a realistic budget.

Budgeting is important because it helps you plan how much money will be spent on each part of your home renovation project. It also helps prevent overspending and makes it easier to determine what kind of work needs to be done next.

To ensure that your budget does not go over or under by too much, keep track of everything as it happens so that nothing gets overlooked later on down the line when bills need paying!

Make a list of priorities

The first thing you want to do is prioritize your list. It is important that you get this right, because if you don't, it will be difficult for your contractor or designer to know how much time and money should be spent on each item.

To do this well, I recommend using a spreadsheet with three columns: importance (0-10), cost (0-10), and timeline (0-3). In the first column, put down numbers between 0 and 10 based on how important each item would be for your family; in the second column put down numbers between 0 and 10 based on how expensive those improvements could become; finally place an estimate of how long it would take before these changes could be made in their third column. Then total up all three columns so they add up to 30 points per category - ideally with no single entry over 20 points!

Hire a pro

If you are not familiar with your home's construction and plumbing, it's best to hire a pro. If you do not know how to do the work yourself, but still want your dream house, then hiring someone else is the way to go. The pros can save time and money while avoiding mistakes that could cost even more in the end.
